Pakistan: How to Get It and Verify Your NADRA Vaccine Certificate?

Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause respiratory illness to a person’s body, It will eventually affect the human immunity system, the first strain was reported from China in December 2019, Which later spread all over the world & the most affected countries are the USA, India, Brazil, UK, Russia, Turkey & France according to data collected by Worldmeters.info.


Covid-19 Vaccines

To curb the COVID-19 World Health Organisation (WHO) has 7 approved vaccines, some of them are Pfizer and Moderna which are more effective vaccines to ending the COVID-19 pandemic. They further said that "Safe and effective vaccines are a game-changing tool: but for the foreseeable future, we must continue wearing masks, cleaning our hands, ensuring good ventilation indoors, physically distancing and avoiding crowds. Being vaccinated does not mean that we can throw caution to the wind and put ourselves and others at risk, particularly because research is still ongoing into how much vaccines protect not only against disease but also against infection and transmission."


Pfizer is administered in two doses, 21-28 days apart and it is only authorized for those above the age of 12. Apart from this Moderna is also administered in two doses, with a difference of 28 days, both vaccines have shown the same efficiency level. Most of the countries like the USA and UK are only granting permission to visitors who have been vaccinated with 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna.


Covid-19 vaccination in Pakistan

Currently, in Pakistan, there are four vaccines that are provided to citizens to boost the immunity system, top of the list of vaccination are Sinopharm, Sinovac, Moderna and Pfizer for overseas travellers. Sinopharm was developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation that is also a part of some efficient vaccines being used in Pakistan. It's also administered in two doses with a difference of 3-4 weeks, eventually, it is not recommended for people under 18 years. Sinovac was also imported from china & developed by Sinovac Life Sciences Co., Ltd. & recommended for the age group above 18.


Registration for vaccination

Due to the widespread of covid-19 Govt. of Pakistan has made it mandatory for everyone to get vaccinated because in many considerable areas such Govt. Offices and Shopping Malls in Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi, the one who is not vaccinated may not be allowed to enter. It's important to register before getting the vaccination.


To Get Registered Follow The Steps Below:

  1. Send your CNIC number to 1166 (or go to NIMS web portal to get registered  @https://.nims.nadra.gov.pk).
  2. You will get the confirmation msg from 1166, there are high chances you will immediate vaccination in confirmation or you will second msg with 4 digit verification code
  3. goto your nearest vaccination and show them 4 digit verification along with your original CNIC.

Note that you can get the vaccine from the vaccination centre set up by the Ministry of Health, Pakistan & it's free till the date we writing this post.

How To Get Vaccination Certificate

If you completed 1 or 2 doses of the vaccine, you are eligible to apply for a Digital Vaccination Certificate (also known as Covid-19 Vaccine Passport) by visiting the NIMS portal, Although you can also visit (Nadra Centers) to make payment & download the certificate from NIM portal.


Follow the steps below to get your COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate

  1. Go to nims.nadra.gov.pk
  2. Choose the Get Covid-19 Certificate (کوویڈ 19 ویکسینیشن سرٹیفکیٹ کا حصول)
  3. Input your CNIC number, Date of Issuance (if you are not 18+ then select CRC from dropdown) & then enter the security code to prove that you're not a robot, press verify button (تصدیق کریں).
The system will fetch the data from the NADRA record and show the table of dose you had as shown below:
If the data shown above is correct, then press verify button(تصدیق کریں) and go-ahead to the next step.
  1. Enter your CNIC number and name as per your CNIC.
  2. If you have a plan to travel abroad don't forget to input your passport number.
  3. Input your nationality and press verify button (تصدیق کریں).


  4. The fee for the certificate is Rs 100 that can be paid online through a debit card or using wallet accounts apps Easypaisa, eSahulat, Alfalah & JazzCash.
  5. Choose the credit card option to pay your certificate fee and press continue (select 2nd option if you wish to make payment from your wallet account apps).
  6. Then, you have to enter your Credit/Debit Card detail & click Confirm & Pay button.
  7. Accept the terms and conditions of the payment gateway & you will be redirected to the payment page.


  8. You will be promoted to enter OTP received from your card issuer (in our case it's HBL Debit Card).
  9. Input the OTP you have received and click the submit button to authorize the transaction.
  10. The page will be redirected back to NIMS Portal and provide you with the download button to get your Digital Certificate.


Hurray..!! we did it :)

Note that if you wish to change the data of the Certificate i.e Name correction, Passport number or Nationality then you have to pay the fee of Rs 100 again to get the updated certificate.

How to Verify NADRA's Digital Vaccination Certificate

In August 2021, the NIMS launched the “Pak Covid-19 Vaccination Pass App” following complaints that Pakistan’s anti-vaxxers are turning to fake vaccine certificates.

You can download the PAK Covid-19 Vaccination Pass from PlayStore & App Store for Apple Devices to download Smart Vaccination Pass by entering your CNIC & Certificate number (find the certificate number at the top right corner of the JPG file downloaded from NIMS web portal) & later it can be used for verification purposes.
