Apply eSpecial Pass (eSP) Online using IMMI ePLKS Portal

Got your ePLKS portal ID? if yes then you are in place to learn how you can apply eSpecial Pass (eSP) online without visiting the Immigration branch office.  Is that sound good to you? if yes then go ahead and follow the steps.

You can apply 5 different types of eSPs at the ePLKS portal such as: 

1. Pending Temporary Employment Pass Renewal;
2. Making Arrangements to leave the country;
3. Pending Passport Renewal;
4. & pending medical reports.

These are the common reasons you can apply eSP for, You may need to apply to Check Out Memo (eCOM) if you're going to apply for eSP for the Purpose of "Making Arrangement to Leave the Country".

Today I'm going to share the practical process with our readers that how you can apply for eSP without visiting Immigration Office. So let's get started.

Got your ePLKS Portal ID? Continue to apply eSP by following the below steps:

How to Apply eSP Using IMMI ePLKS Portal

1. Goto ePLKS Portal https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/plks/main?logMasuk;
2. Login using your ID and password;
3. Goto "PERMOHONAN LANJUTAN PLKS (INDIVIDU)" see the screenshot below;

4. Input the required field and click the search button (Cari);

5. Next, the fetched data will be shown in the table just below the search table;

Note that the eSP application is only applicable if your employee's temporary employment permit is expired otherwise, you need to submit the temporary employment permit renewal and you will see the update (Kemaskini) button appear instead of eSP

6. Now Click on the eSP button, on the next page we need to select the reason for eSP and upload the necessary documents;

1. In case an employee preparing to leave the country (don't forget to apply to eCOM for this reason);
2. 2nd reason is for the Fomema Examinate report pending or you have appealed against the unsuitable result;
3. Pending Passport renewal of employee (prepare the letter/acknowledgement receipt from the Embassy or High commission
4. Pending Kementerian Dalam Negeri's (KDN) approval, this category is not meant for Temporary Employment holders, only choose this reason if applicable. you must prepare the letter of Pending KDN approval;
5. Select if the temporary employment permit is pending for renewal & you wish to renew after eSp approval.
7. Now we will upload the mandatory documents and submit the application for approval, take a look at the screenshot below:

8. In our case, we have a reason for eSP "Making Arrangement to Leave the Country", so we have to prepare the flight ticket and bio-data page of the employee's passport;
9. Upload the necessary documents and acknowledge all the regulations and agreement by clicking all 3 checkboxes and finally click submit (Hantar).

Approval takes approximately 5 working days but may take longer, depending on the traffic flow and Immigration Branch where your file is being handled, for example, if your company address is Johor Bharu then the application will be referred to Immigration Johor Bharu for eSP to be issued.

Malaysia: How to Register at Immigration Portal ePLKS

Malaysia Immigration Department started to Digitalize its services with the Vision of Digital Malaysia,  MyEG was authorized to renew worker permits in 2013 by Immigration Malaysia, and MyEG was also appointed to register undocumented migrants in September 2014 although actual registration started a year later in September 2015. 

During the April 2015 parliament sitting, former deputy home minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar pledged that the government will set up its own online system to manage foreign workers' & Maid permits, instead of relying on MyEG.

When Dr Mahatir came to power again he criticized the way the previous Govt. handle Immigration Services and initiated reforms to provide direct services to Employers through the official website as well as over the counter. In the first phase, Immigration allows to renew the work permits through counter and later launch the official Immigration Online portal and started to provide work permits renewal, checkout memos, and special passes online under the ePLKS system. 

In this post, we will share the step-by-step guide to registering for the ePLKS portal, registration is free of cost but if you hired someone to do the job for you, then there may be service charges.

How to Registered e-PLKS ID

1. Go to the ePLKS portal https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/plks/main;
2. Click Registration (pendaftaran);

3. From the dropdown menu shown in the image above, choose the right category, if you going to renew the work permit of your construction, plantation, services, & agriculture Click "Permohonan Baru Pelabagai Sektor" and for maid "Permohonan Baru Pembantu Rumah", in our case it's Multiple Sectors (Pelabagai Sektor).
4. Enter ROC, IC/Mykad of  Employer/Employer's Representative, and click Search (Cari);




1. If the employer is blacklisted by Immigration, the system will popup the following error at the top of the page.




2. If the employer's address is incomplete, the employer's representative is not on the list of representatives or the employer email does not exist, the ePLKS ID application cannot be submitted, in that case, contact the OSC centre.




3. If the application cannot be forwarded due to the employer's information being incomplete with OSC then click print slip (Cetak slip) to visit the OSC counter to update your record within the Immigration system.

5. Otherwise, the system will fetch the list of Director/Representative of Employer registered with Immigration OSC centre;

6. Here you can edit the email and phone number of listed directors/representatives by click on the name (as shown in the image above);
7. Click the check box (under the "Philih" column) to Apply e-PLKS ID.
8. Now click on continue ( Seturusnya) to upload the required documents;

9. Select the document name one by one from the drop-down list> click choose file > select file from your pc/ device and click upload (muat naik). repeat the same steps for all files/documents;
Download the Registration Letter's soft copy (Surat Kebenaran Pendaftaran ID ePLKS@JIM)

If you are appointing your representative then your director will sign the letter and EPF account statement of the last 3 months (BORANG ''A'' is not Acceptable for registration).




If you have more than one representative don't forget to mention it in the letter and upload identity documents for all of them.

10. In the case of Director will deal with Immigration then you have to upload the following documents (shown in the image below);

11. In the case of a representative who is not listed in form 49/Section 58 then you must upload the KWSP (EPF) account statement of the last 3 months;
12. If everything is fine then the "Submit" button (Hanter) will appear at the right corner of the window and you are good to submit the application, a pop-up window will appear on the popup screen to accept legal agreement (click the check box on the left side of the popup screen) and again click submit (Hanter).

You can track the status of the ID Registration Application.

Note: you will receive an acknowledgement email at the time of submission and after ID approval they username & password in two separate emails, if in case you have not received the response call them directly +603 8880 1452 (call centre Unit Lanjutan Bahagian Pekerja Asing) or chat with the support team by joining the Telegram Group.

Malaysia: Check Malaysia Work Permit Renewal Status - Myeg

I have written tutorials on Immigration, Fomema & MayTravelPass to travel to & from Malaysia, the lack of knowledge regarding application submission & process force them to search for help online & I receive many queries on how to check fomema status, work permit verification & permit renewal & delivery status. So I have tried my best to help them on messenger & write more informative tutorials.

There are 3 ways to submit your worker's permit renewal, Immigration counter (may not serving due to COVID-19 Pandemic), ePLKS & Myeg (Government's Official e-Service Provider). If you have submitted the renewal at Immigration Counter then you don't have to worry about the verification but in case you have hired a third party such as Visa Consultant or Travel Agent then you may worry about the status of the renewal (we suggest that don't hire street agents they will spoil everything).

In this post, we are going to talk about Myeg permit renewal Status, delivery & learn more about the status shown by Myeg  & compare them with the Immigration website (if your application is approved by Immigration).

What Myeg Really Do?

Myeg provides services such as renewal of Vehicle Road Tax, Mykad Replacement, Pay JPJ Summons & Foreign Workers permit renewal.

I always help my Employer to submit the renewal of my work permit & save RM 1000 through Myeg without the hassle and the unique part of the service is I can track every stage of the renewal.

Let's have a look at the Delivery Status (Myeg & Verification with Immigration):

Note: Prepare your Passport # & Company ROC #.

1. Go to https://www.myeg.com.my/check-delivery-status (or you can Install Myeg eServices App from Google PlayStore)

2.  Choose Immigration Foreign Worker, Input your Passport # & Company ROC (Registration #)

3. & Click Check Status.

You will get the result something like this (if your application is approved by the Immigration Department):

Now we will take look into the Immigration system to know the status there:

1. Goto https://services.spicyblogging.com/check-malaysia-work-permit-status/

2. Enter Company ROC/Registration # & Press Search Button

If your application is approved that means Myeg will make payment to immigration to get sticker printing approval. You can check the text in the yellow area above to know more about the status definition.

There are many reasons for unsuccessful permit renewals but the common problems are:

1. The permit expiry date is less than 7 days (if renewing from Myeg).
2. The balance of the passport validity is less than 1 year.
3. Passport has expired.
4. FOMEMA medical check-up failed.
5. No valid insurance.
6. A foreign worker or employer is blacklisted.

Now we will go to the second status after making Levi payment.

If the application status shows the Pay/Bayar that means your application has been approved by Immigration Department & Myeg just paid the levy & they are now processing to print your permit sticker, but the status will remain the same "Processing".

When they process the sticker printing both Myeg & Immigration will change the status of the application into their system. 

The Status should be something like this:

Myeg: "Pending Delivery"

Immigration: "Print"

Note: If your company is appointed the representative(s) of the company must be a Malaysian with a valid MyKad & email address. The representative must be present at the office at the arranged time and provide their MyKad for biometric thumbprint verification.

Let's take look at the status Screenshot:

You will receive the permits within 4 working days for all successful renewals provided that the records are found in the database and upon receipt of approval from the Immigration Department.

In case they are not able to verify the data, a delay is to be expected as the records will be forwarded to Immigration to be re-verified.

& now take a look at the status on Immigration Website:

Congratulations your permit renewal application have been completed successfully :) 

Now let us check the last status from Myeg after the delivery:

That's it :)

All deliveries will be done by Myeg own Logistics and Customer Service Officers. Please ensure the foreign worker passport is available during the delivery for Myeg to paste the renewed permit on the worker's passports. Employer/Boss will also be required to produce MyKad to confirm acknowledgment of the permits.

Malaysia: How to Submit & Check Re-Entry PLKS Application Status

Many of you may know that Malaysia Immigration requires an approval letter from DG Immigration before entry to the Malaysian border to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In Sep. 2020 they launch the website MyTravelpass to submit your entry or exit application before your travel plan, in 1st phase they only allow temporary Employment Visa holders, MM2H & who have Spouse Visa, later on, they extended it to all Visa & Work Permit holder but approvals are limited case to case basis. 

MyTravelPass program ended on 31/03/2022 and was replaced with Re-entry PLKS on the 12th of April 2022, follow the guide below to submit your re-entry PLKS application.

so let's start...

Re-entry PLKS Application Guidelines

All employers who wish to bring back stranded workers in their home countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic have to submit Re-entry Pass Lewatan Kerja Sementara (PLKS) application, only expired permit holders whose permits are expired between 18 March 2020 to 15 April 2022 and foreign worker are outside Malaysia during that period. Foreign workers who are in Malaysia during that period and completed the renewal of PLKS are not eligible to apply, the application period is until 30 June 2022.

1. APPLICATION PROCESS

• Application should be made by the EMPLOYER.
• Application to be made through online https://mtp.imi.gov.my/reEntryPLKS/main.
• Applicant needs to provide the following documents:-
  1. Official application letter from employer;
  2. Front page of the foreign worker’s passport (passport must be valid);
  3. SSM e-info;
  4. Employer’s Identity Card;
  5. Foreign worker’s Vaccination certificate;

All documents must be uploaded in the form of ✶pdf not exceeding 250kb each✶

2. BEFORE TRAVELLING TO MALAYSIA

1.Foreign worker must undergo COVID-19 PCR test three (3) days or 72 hours before departure to Malaysia;

2.Foreign worker must completely vaccinated prior to enter Malaysia;

3. It is compulsory to download and install “MySejahtera” mobile application before departure.

3. UPON ARRIVAL IN MALAYSIA

a. Foreign worker must present passport and MTP Approval during immigration clearance at Point of Entry;
b. Foreign worker will be subjected to health screening at the Point of Entry;
c. Foreign workers will be subjected to the quarantine period set by the relevant agency and cost shall be fully borne by employer;
d. All entry of foreign workers are subjected to current immigration procedures, rules and regulation during immigration clearance at point of entry. Failure to comply will be denied entry.

3. AT THE POINT OF CHECK-IN TO MALAYSIA

Upon arrival in Malaysia, foreign worker needs to comply to the following procedures :-

1. Foreign worker must present passport and Re-Entry PLKS Approval during immigration clearance at Point of Entry.
2. Foreign worker will be subjected to health screening at the Point of Entry.
3. Foreign workers will be subjected to the quarantine period set by the relevant agency and cost shall be fully borne by employer.
4. All entry of foreign workers are subjected to current immigration procedures, rules and regulation during immigration clearance at point of entry. Failure to comply will be denied entry.

1. Please take note that entry into Malaysia is subject to approval and Immigration vetting. The approval is not given automatically.
2. Any errors in the information entered by the applicant cannot be amended and the applicant must re-submit the application.
3. Please be aware that any false reports/statements/representations are an offence under section 56(1)(f) Immigration Act 1959/63.
4. The application will be processed within 14 working days. Application status can be checked online at https://mtp.imi.gov.my/reEntryPLKS/semakan.
5. Any enquiries could be made online at http://eapp.imi.gov.my/spo.
6. Any changes in the decisions are subject to a current government directive.
7. All recruitment of foreign workers upon arrival at the immigration checkpoint must be made by the employers/representative of the employers/agency appointed by the employers.
8. All appointments with the Immigration Department of Malaysia are done via SistemTemujanjiOnline (STO) at http://sto.imi.gov.my/e-temujanji/.

Submit Re-entry PLKS Application

To submit your application you have to prepare the following list of documents to proceed with submission.

1. Official application letter from employer; View Sample
2. Frontpage of the foreign worker’s passport & latest Visit Pass(Temporary Employment);
3. Latest exit stamp; View Sample
4. Vaccination Digital Certificate Issued by the Health Ministry Must be in English/Malay 
5. SSM e-info; (Company_Profile); View Sample
6. Employer’s Identity Card;
7. Contract / Letter of Award for the construction sector;
8. The current contract for the cleaning service sector.

If you have prepared all the above documents let's go to submit your application.

1. Go to https://mtp.imi.gov.my/reEntryPLKS/main & Click Re-Entry PLKS.



Now made selections from the drop-down:
    1. Select Sub-Category Foreign Worker or Maid.
    2. Select the Sector from the list as per the work permit.
    3. Travel Description


2. Fill up the employer/sponsor information.
   
   
   If Re-entry Application is for Foreign Worker Select Company & for Maid Click Individual.
   
   
3. Input company ROC, Company Name, Contact Person, Address, Mobile number & email address.
     
4. Finally, input the worker detail and upload the documents.
   
   
   
   
5. Fill up the form & upload all the documents 1 by 1:
   
   

1. Passport Frontpage;
2. Work Permit (applicable to expired permit as well);
3. Exit/Entry Stamp;
4. Vaccination Certificate/Passport (Starting from 29 Sep 2021);
5. Employer Letter;
6. Employer IC Front & Back;
7. & SSM e-info.
   
   

If you have more than 1 applicant then you have to select the 2nd applicant check box to enter the data 2nd applicant (worker) data & upload supporting documents but make sure you have mentioned all the worker names on the employer letter & you have to upload separate supporting documents for each applicant (worker).

You can merge the files into one (i.e passport & entry stamp into 1 PDF or JPG file if you facing attachment files are exceed the limit allowed by the Re-Entry PLKS Portal

If you are fine with your application accept the terms & conditions by clicking the check box at bottom of the form and submit. 

That's it we have done it. :)

you will receive an email confirmation that looks like this:

I will suggest you keep your eyes on your inbox, where you will find the reply within 14 working days.

If your application got rejected they will let you know the reason for rejection, in our case, they said "you are from a country where COVID-19 cases are more than 150K" & if you get approved you will receive the following letter attached in the approval email or you can download the letter from Re-entry PLKS portal by going to Check Application Status.

Things to Note:

1. This entry permit is only applicable for PLKS holders who have expired from 18 March 2020 only.

2. This permission letter is only valid until 30 June 2022.

3. Foreign workers from countries who require a visa to enter Malaysia must obtain a visa at the High Commission/Embassy Malaysia before travelling.

4. Arriving employees must comply with all conditions related to Covid-19.

5. Employers must conduct the PLKS coordination process immediately at the Foreign Workers Division, Immigration Office according to the address of the employer.

6. The Immigration Office (Entrance Control) must refer the case to the State Immigration Office according to the employer's address for the purpose of PLKS coordination.

7. Please present this entry clearance letter upon arrival.

How to Check Re-Entry PLKS/MTP Application Status

1. Goto https://mtp.imi.gov.my/reEntryPLKS/semakan

2. Enter application #

          Or

3. Passport # 

4. Choose the Nationality of the applicant & finally click the SEARCH button.

Hurray! You can see that the following application has been approved :) and he got the approval we have shared above. 

If your long term pass visit/employment pass expired refer to Malaysia Embassy Visa Service to get a re-entry Visa (keep in mind re-entry visa fee is applicable as per schedule)

How to Check Malaysia's Blacklisted/Cancelled Workpermit

In July 2019 Malaysian Immigration has cancelled work permits from defaulter companies or you may say companies established by moneymakers from foreigners by selling them work permits at high cost rather than employee them in their own projects. As a result of the action against these companies, approximately more than 30,000 work permits have been cancelled/Batal. That is the reason I got too many requests from Pakistani Nationals living in Malaysia to check the status of their work permit. 

The online tool which allows the public to check the work permit status individually by passport number is no longer live, Blocked by the Immigration Department of Malaysia but if you have a company ROC number (Company Registration Number) then you have the option to check the status of that particular company. By ROC number you can get the status of all work permits issued under that company but what about an individual? this is the question that forces a layman to ask in Whatsapp groups or call someone to help them to check the status. 

But today your search & call for help is over because I found the way to check your own work permit by just entering your passport Number & Nationality.

Follow the steps to check the status:

1. Download the HTML file SEMAKAN STATUS PERMOHONAN LANJUTAN NOT IN VISA
2. Open the HTML file using Chrome or Firefox.
3. You will see the following screen.





4. In the screenshot above, you can see the highlighted area of Passport # & Nationality.
5. Enter your Passport #, select your Nationality from the dropdown list & Press the Carian (Search Button) as shown in the image above.
6. If the status shows CETAK (PRINT) that mean your permit is valid (if expiry is due), as shown in the image below.

But if the status shows BATAL (CANCEL) that mean your permit has been cancelled & you're not able to travel/exit anymore from or to Malaysia with your current visa status,
as shown in the image below:

Check Malaysia's General Work Permit Status

For the last 4 years, I’m living in Malaysia, I have something about the immigration visa permit procedure and normally it’s very difficult to know without hiring an agent/consultant. In this tutorial, I gonna share some useful stuff that will help the foreigners living in Malaysia.
The common question everyone will ask is how to check Permit Status Online. In the past Malaysian immigration do provide a service to check the Permit Status using the Passport number of foreigner workers but in 2014 while they were updating the system they stop the service to check permit status through Passport numbers.

Nowadays if someone wishes to check the status of their work permit they must have “Application Number (Nombor Permohonan), Employer Identification Number (No. Kad Pengenalan Majikan) and last but not least Company Registration Number (No. Pendaftaran Syarikat)” Formally known as ROC Number in Peninsular Malaysia. I will also share the way how to find out the ROC to check your permit/employment pass status.
To do so, we must have the Company Name which you can find on your sticker (PLKS) you have placed on your Passport or if you don’t have the passport you may have I-Kad, you can grab it from your I-Kad or in most cases from your permit copy provided by employer or sub-agent.
So now if you got the name of your company, let’s start to check the status. Keep note that in this tutorial we will only learn how to check the status of a general work permit, which is issued under these 5 approved sectors.

• In the row of Number is your company ROC number (There are chances to have the duplicate company registered under the same name but ROC can’t be the same. Make sure by checking the company on your Sticker (PLKS), & also make sure that your company is Enterprise or Private Limited (SDN BHD).

Now we have the ROC Number Let’s Proceed To the Next Step

1. Go to https://services.spicyblogging.com/check-malaysia-work-permit-status/
2. The page should look something like this (if it’s not the same let us know we will update the screenshot)

3. Now just input your Employer IC or MyKad/ROC (No. Pendaftaran Syarikat or Company Registration Number) or Application # & click on the search button & system will show the table of results just below the inputs.

Note that there may be more than one row/page of results if search by Company Registration/ROC # (If your company hired more than 20 foreign workers) you can use the navigation button at the right bottom corner of the table to navigate your status.
